Abstract
⺠We identified a novel nicotinic receptor subunit, acr-26. ⺠The acr-26 gene is present in a wide range of parasitic species, but not Caenorhabditis elegans. ⺠ACR-26 is expressed on muscle cells in the head region of Ascaris suum. ⺠ACR-26 forms homomeric receptors that respond to acetylcholine and nicotine.
