Abstract
⺠Low pH induces changes in functional and structural features of EhPGDH. ⺠Protonation of acidic amino acid residues at pH 5 leads to subunit dissociation. ⺠Glu-108 is essential for subunit assembly. ⺠The E108A mutant existed as monomer even at pH 7. ⺠The electrostatic interactions play a crucial role in the protein stability.
