Abstract
► The T. brucei transferrin receptor binds its ligand via both C-lobe and N-lobe. ► Both C-lobe and N-lobe fragments support the growth of T. brucei bloodstream forms. ► The C-lobe is more efficiently taken up and more potent in supporting parasite growth.
