Abstract
▶ The E. granulosus laminated layer is easily disassembled after disulphide reduction. ▶ Galactose-specific lectins are good probes for the laminated layer constituent mucins. ▶ Agarose electrophoresis is an appropriate technique for visualizing these mucins. ▶ A substantial part of the mucins appears to have cationic polypeptide backbones.
