Abstract
► CD1 molecules present lipid antigens to T cells; we discuss the role of CD1c in human immunity. ► CD1c's unique structural modifications are discussed, enabling the presentation of diverse lipid-based antigens. ► Future studies include characterizing the T cell repertoire reactive to CD1c, both from the αβ and γδ T cell lineages.
