► Recombinant human Fcα/μreceptor expressed on surface of human cell line. ► Dissociation constants for binding of human IgA and IgM to Fcα/μR are reported. ► IgM polymers do not require J chain for binding to Fcα/μR. ► IgA lacking N-linked glycans can associate with Fcα/μR. ► IgA can be internalized by Fcα/μR.
