► Weanling rats prefer 2% and 10% sucrose to 30% sucrose. ► Weanling rats prefer flavors previously associated with low concentration of sucrose. ► Weanling rats reject flavors previously associated with high concentration of sucrose. ► The association learning acquired in the weanling period is retained in adulthood.
