Abstract
► Maxipost and R-Maxipost act as +/− modulators on BK (KCa1.1) and Kv7.1 channels. ► Potassium channel dysfunction may underlie hyperactive CNS disorders and tinnitus. ► High doses of salicylate produced behavior consistent with the presence of tinnitus. ► Maxipost and R-Maxipost reversal of salicylate induced tinnitus is dose dependent. ► Maxipost and R-Maxipost may reduce tinnitus by modulating potassium channels.
