Abstract
⺠Anole lizards display a colorful throat fan to court females and defend territories. ⺠Male lizards that display often have larger display structures than other males. ⺠Female lizards that display often do not have larger structures than other females. ⺠Males with high testosterone do not perform displays more often than other males. ⺠Male display structures are larger than females', even when accounting for body size.
