Abstract
⺠Limited sucrose intake reduces the HPA axis response to restraint stress. ⺠HPA-dampening is maximal with greater durations and/or frequencies of sucrose. ⺠HPA-dampening is not affected by increasing the sucrose volume. ⺠The number/rate of reward exposures is more critical than sucrose calories consumed.
