Abstract
⺠For the first time the interaction between exposure to alumina and exercise is addressed. ⺠In mice exposed to alumina the viscoelastic component of elastance and the viscoelastic/inhomogeneous pressure augmented. ⺠In the same animals the lung polymorphonuclear amount, the fraction area of alveolar collapse and TGF-β increased. ⺠Exercise may mitigate the pro-inflammatory response to inhaled aluminum refinery dust.
