Abstract
► 28-d SNRI (venlafaxine; VHCL) administration modifies basal respiratory output in adult mouse. ► Respiratory burst frequency was reduced by VHCL treatment both in vitro and in vivo. ► TE was increased and TI/Ttot was significantly shortened by VHCL treatment. ► VHCL treatment produced post-inspiratory and spurious expiratory discharges in vitro.
