Abstract
⺠We demonstrate in standing Shetland ponies a progressively decreasing ventilation of dependent lung regions compared with non-dependent ones with pregnancy duration. ⺠After parturition ventilation distribution changes immediately showing a more balanced ventilation distribution. ⺠Electrical Impedance Tomography enables repeated and safe (lack of radiation) assessment of lung aeration during pregnancy.
