Abstract
The available evidence suggests that AASI, obtained by ambulatory BP monitoring, predicts future cardiovascular events, particularly stroke, and is associated with indices of arterial function. The precise pathophysiological mechanisms remain obscure. Research is required to determine the usefulness of AASI as a therapeutic target in clinical practice.
