Abstract
⸠We investigate the predictive utility of leukocyte subsets in CVD. ⸠A high neutrophil count emerged as the strongest predictor of CVD mortality. ⸠Comparative analysis with hsCRP revealed that neutrophil count was a more robust predictor of CVD. ⸠The hazard ratio for high-sensitivity CRP steadily declined with incremental adjustment. ⸠A high neutrophil count should be considered an a strong and low-cost predictor of CVD death in a high-risk population.
