Abstract
⺠Studying the role of PON1 in blood pressure (BP) regulation, using paraoxonase1 knockout (PON1KO) mice. ⺠Reduced BP observed in PON1KO is RAAS- and NO-independent. ⺠A direct, causal relation between PON1 and BP was observed. ⺠BP is inversely related to 5,6-EET which is regulated by PON1. ⺠Endothelial-derived hyperpolarization-like response is probably involved in the reduced BP in PON1KO mice.
