Abstract
â¢FCS is an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by severe hypertriglyceridemia.â¢Triglycerides may be substantially lowered by restricting dietary fat to <15% of the total daily caloric intake.â¢Although standard lipid-lowering therapies are generally ineffective in patients with familial chylomicronemia syndrome, triglyceride may be significantly lowered through strict adherence to a very low fat diet.
