Abstract
- EOM could be stratified into dissolved EOM (dEOM) and bound EOM (bEOM).
- A centrifugation method at 10,000 Ã g for 10 min was chosen as the best condition for dEOM extraction, and a heating method at 70 °C for 20 min was the best for bEOM extraction.
- The dEOM was composed of proteins, polysaccharides and humic-like substances with a low ratio of proteins/polysaccharides.
- The bEOM possessed a large amount of proteins, small amount of polysaccharides, and few humic-like substances and had greater potential in containing low-MW and hydrophilic fractions.
