- Hierarchically organized nanopillar arrays were accurately replicated in polylactides.
- Interpillar distances of 1-10 μm influence attachment and alignment of cells.
- Saos-2 and BMSC cells are attracted at different levels by the same surface.
- Fibronectin coating enhances cell attachment on the nanopillar arrays.
- Pillars of lower stiffness are more attractive to growing cells.
