Abstract
⺠Pseudomonas gessardii able to produce lipoprotein biosurfactant with high yield using slaughterhouse lipid waste as the substrate. ⺠The lipoprotein produced was characterized by SDS-PAGE, HPLC, GC, FT-IR, TGA and DSC analysis. ⺠The micelle resides more than 96 h in the fermented medium. ⺠Lipoprotein has high efficiency for the sequestering of metal ions in the order Cr3+ > Ca2+ > Cu2+ > Fe2+ ions. ⺠FT-IR studies and SEM images confirmed the sequestering of metal ions onto BS-MAC.
