Abstract
► Zero-order release-kinetics of the drug has been observed for the silica-PDMS carrier. ► The elution rate of DOX can be controlled by a calcium precursor. ► Silica-PDMS enhances growth of calcium phosphate compared to PDMS-free silica. ► The calcium phosphate deposit do not obstruct controlled release of the drug.
