Abstract
⺠Water soluble carbon nanoparticles (CNPs) were prepared from carbohydrates. ⺠Water soluble CNPs possess visible, up-conversion and NIR PL properties. ⺠NIR PL of the CNPs can also be observed by NIR excitation. ⺠Water soluble CNPs have potential applications in bio-imaging.
