Abstract
⺠Amino acid-derived surfactants: green amphiphiles from renewable sources. ⺠Synthesis of new surfactants derivatized from serine, tyrosine and hydroxyproline. ⺠Lower cmc and stronger air-water adsorption than conventional surfactants. ⺠Effects depend on headgroup chemistry, counterion and unsaturation. ⺠Potential for biological applications.
