Abstract
⺠Zizyphus jujuba potentiated the antiepileptic effect of phenytoin and phenobarbitone. ⺠No change in antiepileptic effect of carbamazepine was observed with Z. jujuba. ⺠Z. jujuba with sub-therapeutic doses of these AEDs prevented cognitive impairment. ⺠Z. jujuba reversed the seizure-induced oxidative stress. ⺠Z. jujuba did not alter the serum concentrations of these AEDs.
