Abstract
► Bilateral cathodal tDCS has antiepileptic effects in absence epileptic rats. ► The number of spike-wave discharges reduced significantly during stimulation. ► Cathodal tDCS had long-lasting intensity-dependent effect on mean duration of SWDs. ► The effects of tDCS on mean duration only appeared after stopping the stimulation. ► The behavioral activity of the animals changes by higher intensity tDCS.
