Abstract
⺠PNES and epileptic seizures (ES) have similar risk for harm in EMUs. ⺠Automated seizure detection software does not assist in making staff aware of PNES. ⺠Actual injury rates are low in patients with PNES in EMUs. ⺠Patients with PNES or ES in EMUs should undergo the same safety protocols.
