Abstract
⺠γ-Aminobutyric acid-mediated Cl- influx blockade causes tonic-clonic epileptic seizures. ⺠Tonic-clonic convulsions are followed by antinociception. ⺠The cholinergic system and nucleus raphe magnus modulate pain after seizures. ⺠Cholinergic inputs to the nucleus raphe magnus modulate postictal antinociception. ⺠Nucleus raphe magnus muscarinic and nicotinic receptors are involved in both interictal and postictal analgesia.
