Abstract
► Cognitive performance was compared within nonepileptic seizure (NES) subgroups and between NES and epilepsy patients. ► Patients with more dramatic nonepileptic seizure semiology had lower cognitive scores. ► The temporal lobe epilepsy group and the most dramatic nonepileptic seizure group had similar cognitive scores. ► The least dramatic nonepileptic seizure semiological group cognitively outperformed the temporal lobe epilepsy group. ► Cognitive status varies as a function of nonepileptic seizure semiology and can differ from that in temporal lobe epilepsy.
