Abstract
⺠Anticonvulsant activity of hydroalcoholic extract of Zizyphus jujuba was evaluated in experimental models of seizures. ⺠Extract exhibited significant dose-dependent protection against PTZ-induced seizures, with 100% protection at 1000 mg/kg. ⺠The extract exhibited a protection of 66.7% against maximal electric shock-induced seizures at 1000 mg/kg. ⺠Pretreatment with the extract significantly improved memory. ⺠The extract also reversed the seizure induced increased oxidative stress.
