Abstract
⺠Antiepileptic drug levels, ovulatory status, and hormones influence premenstrual dysphoric disorder in women with epilepsy. ⺠Premenstrual dysphoric disorder severity is greater with right- than left sided epilepsy and with temporal foci. ⺠Premenstrual dysphoric disorder severity scores are greater with anovulatory cycles. ⺠Scores correlate with progesterone levels and estradiol/progesterone ratios. ⺠Mood scores favor carbamazepine and lamotrigine over levetiracetam.
