Abstract
⺠The impact of insurance for individuals with epilepsy was analyzed using national survey data. ⺠Uninsured individuals had fewer outpatient visits and neurologist visits. ⺠Uninsured individuals had greater out-of-pocket costs for antiepileptic drugs. ⺠Utilization rates for Medicaid were similar to those for private insurance, but costs were lower for Medicaid.
