Abstract
⺠Two distinct profiles of patients with psychogenic nonepileptic seizures were characterized on the basis of trauma history. ⺠These two groups differ with respect to psychiatric comorbidities and psychopathological mechanisms. ⺠Trauma is associated with psychiatric comorbidities and a dissociative mechanism. ⺠Absence of trauma is associated with predominant precipitating and perpetuating factors.
