Abstract
⺠Intra-cranial devices are the preferred strategy to manage intractable epilepsy. ⺠This strategy is unlikely to address the global burden of intractable epilepsy. ⺠Extra-cerebral signals (e.g., cardiac) altered by seizures are easily recordable. ⺠These signals may be used for real-time automated seizure detection and warning. ⺠Extra-cerebral seizure detection is feasible and useful.
