Abstract
► Intra-cranial devices are the preferred strategy to manage intractable epilepsy. ► This strategy is unlikely to address the global burden of intractable epilepsy. ► Extra-cerebral signals (e.g., cardiac) altered by seizures are easily recordable. ► These signals may be used for real-time automated seizure detection and warning. ► Extra-cerebral seizure detection is feasible and useful.
