Abstract
⺠Selection among antiepileptic drugs depends on tolerability as well as efficacy. ⺠Current methods to assess adverse effects are insufficient for clinical use. ⺠Adverse effects are best evaluated in monotherapy studies. ⺠Specific rather than spontaneous questioning may be an improvement.
