Abstract
⺠Epilepsy surgery is an effective treatment for intractable partial epilepsy. ⺠Favorable candidates include patients with lesional epilepsy and medial temporal lobe epilepsy. ⺠There is conflicting evidence regarding the efficacy and safety of surgery in non-lesional extratemporal epilepsy. ⺠The controversy surrounding epilepsy surgery in patients with non-lesional epilepsy will be reviewed.
