Abstract
⺠A unique interpretation of epilepsy care processes is offered from the patient's perspective. ⺠Significant unmet patient needs and epilepsy care deficits from the patient's perspective are demonstrated. ⺠Research should explore why autonomy is sometimes abdicated to clinicians for care of people with epilepsy. ⺠More understanding of patient expectations is required to inform service reform.
