Abstract
⺠Lacosamide is a potent antiepileptic drug available in an intravenous formulation. ⺠12 of 17 patients with recurrent seizures responded to lacosamide. ⺠Lacosamide appears to be effective in levetiracetam-refractory patients. ⺠Its efficacy is comparable to that of other antiepileptic drugs. ⺠No significant side effects were noted.
