Abstract
⺠E3 ligase parkin was overexpressed in the nigrostriatal dopamine system in the rat. ⺠Parkin overexpression decreased methamphetamine toxicity to striatal terminals. ⺠Parkin protection did not involve upregulation of the 20S proteasome. ⺠Parkin protection did not involve decreasing methamphetamine-induced hyperthermia.
