Experimental and clinical factors influencing long-term stable in vitro expansion of multipotent neural cells from human adult temporal lobes

► Multipotent neural cells were cultured from the human adult temporal lobe. ► In the attachment culture condition, the cells were stably expanded. ► The cells expressed neural stem cell markers and showed differentiation potentials. ► Surgical sample volume and age affected the success of the primary culture. ► Implantation of the cells had significant therapeutic effects against the stroke.
