Abstract

âº We test the role of ErbB1 EGFR receptor in controlling neurite outgrowth. âº CNS myelin, CSPGs, fibrinogen and Poly I:C inhibited neurite outgrowth. âº Outgrowth from wild type neurons was disinhibited by ErbB1 kinase inhibitors. âº Disinhibition was shown to be dependent on the presence of ErbB1. âº ErbB1 kinase is a valid target for enhancing axonal regeneration in the CNS.
