Abstract
⺠Neuregulin-1 chemoattracts migrating OPCs during embryonic development. ⺠This effect is mediated by the ErbB4 receptor which is expressed by OPCs. ⺠Neuregulin-1 has no effect on migrating PDGFRα+-OPCs, at postnatal stages. ⺠ErbB4 knockout mice show a diminished migrating OPCs at embryonic stages. ⺠Neuregulin-1 increases OPC differentiation towards mature oligodendrocytes.
