Abstract
⺠We have characterized pilocarpine model of epileptogenesis in mice. ⺠Generalized seizures started already 24 h after pilocarpine status epilepticus. ⺠These seizures were not related to any residual pilocarpine exposure. ⺠Hippocampal damage is correlated with status epilepticus duration and seizure numbers. ⺠Mouse pilocarpine model may be used for the discovery of novel epilepsy therapies.
