Abstract
⺠Study results give an explanation of how DBS in the PPTg achieves therapeutic effects. ⺠Modulation by PPTg DBS decreases firing rate in the STN in hemi-parkinsonian rats. ⺠DBS in the PPTg is related with alteration of pathological oscillatory activities. ⺠Therapeutic efficacy could be achieved by the manipulation of the PPN area.
