Abstract
► Maternal hypertension is a common problem interfering with the fetus development. ► We studied its impact on the susceptibility of the immature brain to hypoxia-ischemia. ► MRI revealed that rats born from hypertensive dams had less extended brain damages. ► This neuroprotection was associated with less behavioral impairments. ► Maternal hypertension through preconditioning may protect from hypoxia-ischemia.
