Abstract
⺠Maternal hypertension is a common problem interfering with the fetus development. ⺠We studied its impact on the susceptibility of the immature brain to hypoxia-ischemia. ⺠MRI revealed that rats born from hypertensive dams had less extended brain damages. ⺠This neuroprotection was associated with less behavioral impairments. ⺠Maternal hypertension through preconditioning may protect from hypoxia-ischemia.
