Abstract
⺠Gabapentin (GBP) decreases injury-induced astrocytosis and is neuroprotective. ⺠GBP given following cortical injury inhibits synapse formation and decreases excitatory synaptic activity. ⺠In vivo GBP treatment reduces evoked epileptiform discharges in slices from injured cortex. ⺠GBP is a potential antiepileptogenic agent
