Abstract
⺠β-Cleaved C-terminal fragment of APP (C99) is targeted to mitochondria in 5XFAD mice. ⺠Mitochondrial C99 is primarily associated with the mitoplast in 5XFAD mice. ⺠BACE1+/â deletion reduces mitochondrial accumulation of C99 and fl-APP in 5XFAD mice. ⺠Mitochondrial targeting of C99 and fl-APP may account for mitochondrial dysfunction.
