Abstract
⺠Cerebral ischemia was induced by middle cerebral artery occlusion in mice. ⺠Higher survival rate was found in lutein post-treatment group. ⺠Lutein was found to be anti-apoptotic, anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory. ⺠Lutein is classified to be safe with minimal side-effects. ⺠Lutein post-stroke regimen may be beneficial for stroke patients.
