Abstract
⺠Inflammatory stimulation or CNTF enhance mTOR activity in RGCs in vivo and in vitro. ⺠mTOR activation is mediated by astrocytic CNTF and LIF after inflammatory stimulation. ⺠Neuronal mTOR activity is not required in neuroprotection and initiation of axon regeneration. ⺠Neuronal mTOR activity is required for the maintenance of the regenerative state. ⺠Neuronal mTOR activity modulates inhibitory signaling of myelin and neurocan.
