Abstract
► Time course of abnormal patterns of activity in the cortex and basal ganglia in a rodent model of Parkinson's disease. ► Dopamine lesion alters signal treatment and promotes high voltage spindles. ► Early stage: transient motoric impairment with spindle disruption and inflammation. ► Mid stages: increase in spindle occurrence while locomotion is back to normal. ► Late stages: durable motoric impairment with changes in signal processing in the SNr.
