Abstract
âºThe role of mitochondrial oxidative stress in epilepsy was investigated. âºMice deficient in mitochondrial antioxidant (Sod2â/â) showed spontaneous electrographic and motor seizures. âºSeizures, oxidative stress and bioenergetic parameters in Sod2â/â mice were attenuated by a catalytic antioxidant. âºMitochondrial oxidative stress is a contributing mechanism to epilepsy in Sod2-/- mice.
